Wing Chun Kung Fu

What is Wing Chun?

Wing Chun is a style of traditional Chinese martial art that originated in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong. It was created by a woman named Yim Wing Chun, who was said to have learned the art from a Buddhist nun.

Wing Chun is a close-range combat system that emphasizes practical self-defense techniques and quick, efficient movements. It is characterized by its use of "centerline theory," which involves attacking an opponent's central axis, or centerline, to quickly incapacitate them.

Wing Chun is known for its simplicity, directness, and efficiency. It uses a combination of striking, trapping, and grappling techniques, and emphasizes close-range combat and simultaneous defense and offense. Wing Chun is often practiced using a wooden dummy, which helps students develop timing, accuracy, and power in their strikes.
